Ingredients:

  • 8 domestic eggs
  • 4 large home-grown, unpeeled oranges
  • 30 dag sliced almonds (not ground)
  • a cup of sugar = about 15 dag
  • 2 tablespoons maraschino
  • 2 large cups (about ½ l) of sweet cream
  • ½ kg of cooking chocolate

 

Preparation:

Cut the oranges into small pieces and boil them very briefly in a little water. Beat the egg whites into stiff peaks. In a deep bowl, beat (or mix) egg yolks and sugar well, add almonds, boiled oranges and maraschino and mix everything. Add egg whites and gently mix everything. Pour the prepared mixture into a round greased cake mold and bake in the oven for about one hour at 150 degrees.

Glaze:

Cover the baked cake with a chocolate glaze that we prepare ourselves from dark cocoa or melt cooking chocolate in sweet cream.
