BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Traditional food has played a major role in the tradition and folklore of the countries of the program area for thousands of years, representing a basic part of their cultural heritage. Food and culture are of particular importance in this area where tradition, cultural heritage, gastronomy and catering are inextricably intertwined. Local cuisine and local products can trigger innovation and promotion, ultimately ensuring development on a regional and global level. Above all, they can still improve the tourist offer.

GOALS

The main goal of the “CUHaCHA” project is to strengthen and preserve the identity of the common culinary heritage of the program area and contribute to the development of tourism.

This goal will be achieved with two specific objectives:

1) establishment of cross-border cooperation in order to strengthen and make the tourist offer more diverse

2) better management and promotion of culinary heritage as part of the tourist offer

THE RESULTS

As the specific objectives of the project are achieved, 4 outputs will be developed:

1) Joint trails of culinary heritage to strengthen and diversify tourist offers

2) Culinary heritage monograph

3) Training provides a service to ensure better management of culinary heritage

4) Arrangement of traditional kitchens to promote the culinary heritage of this area

TARGET GROUPS

The main target groups that will benefit from the implementation of the project will be the general public, public bodies, service providers and other stakeholders in the field of tourism, development and economy in the program area. Despite the potential of the culinary heritage of the program area, there were no transnational projects connected to the tourist offer. Through cross-border cooperation, this project will achieve a broader goal and create a unique common structure of culinary heritage, while providing a tourist offer to all three partner countries.
