Ingredients:

  • Different types of grains and legumes: broad beans, peas, buckwheat, lentils, chickpeas, wheat, corn, etc.
  • A bit of salt
  • Olive oil

Meal preparation:

Before starting, the grains and legumes are soaked in lukewarm water. If there are several types of cereals, they need to be cooked separately due to the different length of cooking. When the grains and legumes are cooked, drain the water and mix everything together in the same bowl. A little water, salt and oil are added. Cook again until it boils – duration as needed.

Serving:

It is served in a deep plate.

It is usually prepared for the religious holiday known as Varindan (St. Barbara, 17/12 according to the Julian calendar).
