Medena rosa
Medena rosa sawn with its appearance, quality, shape and especially its taste. It is an extremely sweet and juicy cake whose biscuit looks like a date, and the filling looks like tufaha.
Ingredients for the dough:
- 6 dag of margarine
- 5 dag of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 baking powder
- 15 dag of flour
Ingredients for boiled apples:
- 50 dag of sugar
- 0.5 l of water
- 1 pc. vanilla sugar
- lemon 3 slices
- 2 apples (golden delicious)
Sugar solution (sorbet)
- sugar 40 dag
- lemon 2 slices
- vanilla sugar 1 pc
Ingredients for the filling:
- nuts
- raisins
- dried figs
- honey
- a little water in which the apples were boiled
Preparation for the dough:
Make a fat dough from the above ingredients. Form 6 balls, flatten them a little and place them on the ribbing to leave an imprint. Arrange them in a pan with a gap. Place the pan in a cold oven. Bake them at 200°C until they get a golden yellow color. Pour boiled sherbet over the baked bases.
Preparing the apple:
Remove the middle from the apples, peel and cut into 2-4 slices, depending on the size of the apple. Add apples to the boiled sugar solution. Sprinkle sugar over the apples and cook, covered, for 2 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat and cool covered.
Preparing the filling:
Roughly chop raisins, figs and walnuts and mix with a little sugar solution made from apples and honey. Mix the mixture well and fill the apples with it.
Serving/Serving:
Place a base of dough for honeydew on the dessert plate, then place a cooked apple on the dough, fill the cavity in the middle of the apple with filling and make a decorative wreath of whipped cream around it. The stuffing is a must see. Lightly decorate with drops of honey in the form of dew.
Interesting facts about the dessert:
Honeydew has been made since 1968. years. It combines two cakes, hurmasica and tufahija, which are traditionally made in Herzegovina.
“Medna rosa” cake is the work of chef Veselko Milas. Milas was awarded for his idea back in 1968. year at a cooking competition in Italy. The cake was created on the idea of connecting Bosnia and Herzegovina, a symbiosis of the Mediterranean and the Orient, the local nature and beauty with the flavors of well-known delicacies, which are combined in one cake.
