Watered golden yellow dessert. In the people, this cake has several names: hurmašice, urmašice, hurmadžik. One thing , the shape and appearance of the dessert replaces the delicious taste. It takes us back to our childhood with its smell and taste. Almost every family could afford to prepare this dessert, unlike baklava.

Ingredients

Dough 

  • 50 dag of melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 dag flour
  • 2 g baking powder
  • 20 ml of sour milk

Agda

  • 4 dl of water
  • 75 dag of sugar
  • vanilla sugar
  • 1 lemon

Meal preparation

Dough: Knead the dough until you get a uniform mixture. Take pieces of dough and make walnut-sized balls. Form each ball to get dates and press them with a grater so that the grater remains on the dough. Repeat the process until all the mixture is used up.

Arrange the persimmons in a pan greased with butter and sprinkled with flour. Heat the oven to 250°C and bake the persimmons for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. In the meantime, make the agda.

Agda:

Add sugar and vanilla sugar to the water, then stir until the sugar dissolves. Let it boil for three minutes. Add lemon and remove from heat. When the dates are ready, pour hot agda over them, and spread the lemon over the dates. The cake cools for about two hours.

Serving

Hurmašica needs to be sprinkled with walnuts. They are served cold.
